How Nonprofits (and this Denver student) Benefit from the Fund

It’s no secret that nonprofits operate with limited resources and small budgets. Funding is well-earned and can be hard to come by, even for the most established organizations.

Prosperity Denver Fund helps alleviate the stress on nonprofits with reimbursement of up to 75% of their costs. With this financial support, they can afford to increase their capacity and provide more scholarships to local students. Plus, by partnering with Prosperity Denver Fund, nonprofits are given the opportunity to reach more students and more donors.

Increasing the capacity for post-secondary education in Denver is beneficial for both the public and private sectors. When more scholarships are available, Denver’s youth is more educated and therefore more qualified to hold the many jobs in Denver nearly 74% that require a post-secondary degree or certificate. Students who receive post-secondary education in Denver are more likely to remain here after graduation. This means they can apply their skillset to the local workforce and economy.

The Fund impacts a wide-range of Denver’s current and future students. One such student is Denver resident Safiya Abdulhakim. Originally from Ethiopia, Safiya moved to the city with her family. While studying Aviation Aerospace Science Management at Metropolitan State University, Safiya also holds a part-time job to help cover the cost of living. She applies herself both in class and at work, and certainly doesn’t take the opportunity for education for granted.

“I am a first generation student graduating in December with zero debt in my account,” she says. The Fund is proud to have contributed to her bright future.
