6 Things to Know Before Applying to be a Supported Organization

Prosperity Denver Fund: providing funding for Denver education nonprofits

The organizations that receive reimbursement from Prosperity Denver Fund are what we call “Supported Organizations.” If you want to become one, your organization can apply for eligibility any time using our rolling application process. Before you do, here’s what you need to know:

1) We Have a Two-Step Application Process

The Fund has a two-step application process. First, your organization must apply for eligibility through our rolling application process. If your organization is deemed eligible, you must then request reimbursement.

In the request for reimbursement, we’ll ask for specific information as to the scholarships you provide, the students who receive them, and the post-secondary institutions to which they are attending.

2) You Must Provide Scholarships

In order to be approved for eligibility, your organization must provide scholarships to Denver students for post-secondary education. In addition to traditional four-year colleges, scholarships can be for two-year colleges and technical schools.

3) Support Services Are Eligible, Too

Your organization is required to provide scholarships. If you provide academic support services as well, those costs may be eligible for reimbursement, too. Eligible support services include academic tutoring, guidance selecting courses, career counseling, and more (for a full list, visit our website).

4) You Can Be Reimbursed for Up To 75% of Qualifying Costs

Your organization can be reimbursed for up to 75% of qualifying costs. If you provide support services, your reimbursement for those services can meet but not exceed the amount you receive for scholarships.

5) Your Organization Must Meet Specific Requirements

Your nonprofit must serve Denver students and currently be registered and in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State. Your organization must also hold nonprofit status, have a three-year history, and not be affiliated with a post-secondary institution.

6) You Must Submit Annual Reporting

Once your organization receives reimbursement, you are required to submit an annual report to the Fund demonstrating how you are using the funding. The reimbursement you receive must supplement but not supplant the current funding of your organization.
