May Community Newsletter

Dear Denver community,

From preschool classrooms ringed by beaming parents to college auditoriums packed to the rafters with family and friends – it’s the graduation season.

It’s the time of year when students take up the centuries old tradition of donning caps and gowns and marching forward to take a piece of paper from the hand of an educator or administrator.

That piece of paper might be a diploma, a certificate, or a note of congratulations…whatever it is, it marks the end of one thing, and the beginning of something else.

Here at Prosperity Denver Fund, graduations are why we’re here.

We’re also here because we’re stewarding the community’s investment in what is made possible by these graduations – futures.

Futures like that first professional job as an accountant, a certificate to start a career in information technology, an offer to attend medical school, or a promotion – all made possible in part by the generosity of Denver’s taxpayers.

We join you in celebrating the graduates in your life.

Congratulations!

Rebecca Arno

About the Denver Prosperity Fund

In 2018, Denver voters passed a ballot initiative known as Prosperity Denver. The ordinance called for a 0.08% sales tax (less than one cent on $10) which would be distributed in the form of reimbursements to nonprofits providing scholarships to Denver students. Prosperity Denver Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, manages and distributes this funding, contributing millions each year to eligible organizations.
