Hello Denver community,
Spring is such a wonderful time for us to grow and gather! As the weather warms up, nonprofit event planners get busy. These community events help Prosperity Denver Fund’s program partners build connections and raise funds, which are essential to their success.
In my new(ish) role, it’s been incredibly fun joining many of our Supported Organizations at their events. With a small team and limited budget, we can’t attend every event, but we love to be there when we can. Hearing from students sharing their stories reminds us why we’re doing this work, making more resources available for young people in Denver to find their paths to careers and success.
Speaking of our work, springtime also brings one of Prosperity Denver Fund’s two annual funding distribution cycles. We expect 20 to 30 organizations to apply for funding this spring, up from the usual four or five!
We’re thrilled that more than a dozen new organizations will be submitting funding requests to Prosperity Denver Fund. These include CHIC (Collaborative Healing Initiative within Communities), which helps women and girls achieve their educational and career dreams, and Servicios de la Raza, which helps community members in building valuable skills for various job pathways.
On April 25, we hosted our first in-person Learning Community event, bringing together more than 30 organizations – both long-time partners and new partners.
One of our speakers, James Cryan from Willow Education, said that we were in “the most powerful room in Colorado,” filled with community leaders representing all parts of the ecosystem helping young people aged 13 to 30 as they shape their futures.
In the coming weeks, we look forward to living up to that statement as we build on the strength of our community together.
Happy spring!

About the Denver Prosperity Fund
In 2018, Denver voters passed a ballot initiative known as Prosperity Denver. The ordinance called for a 0.08% sales tax (less than one cent on $10) which would be distributed in the form of reimbursements to nonprofits providing scholarships to Denver students. Prosperity Denver Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, manages and distributes this funding, contributing millions each year to eligible organizations.
